May 6th is the Feast of Blessed Bartolomeo Pucci-Franceschi.
After his children were grown, Bartolomeo left his wealth and family to become a Franciscan friar at the convent of San Francisco Montepulciano, Italy. Many of the locals considered him insane to give up his wealthy Tuscan nobility to become a Franciscan friar. He demonstrated his love for God as a model of religious devotion. He is noted for his charity to the poor, especially in times of famine. He received visions of Mary and the angels, and was known as a miracle worker.
