Andrew the Apostle, Fisherman and Advocate

November 30th is the feast of St Andrew the Apostle

Saint Andrew introduced Jesus to his brother Peter. Andrew was a Galilean fisherman who became one of the first to follow Jesus. Andrew the Apostle told Jesus about the boy with the loaves and fishes. He was crucified on a cross shaped in an X. He asked to be bound instead of nailed on this cross because he deemed himself unworthy to be crucified on the same type of cross as Jesus. St. Andrew, patron of fisherman and lover of Jesus, show us how to lead others to Jesus.
